PRE-EVENT
Participants will receive videos from Scott Stokely about the philosophy and fundamentals of the Stokely Disc Golf Method to study. Learning this important information, in advance of your session, will ensure that in-person time is spent on form work not knowledge transfer.
CHECK-IN AND PRE-SEMINAR VIDEO
While participants check-in, your coach will shoot the “before” portion of the “before and after” video. Participants throw backhand, sidearm and putting to document your starting point for the session.
BACKHAND POWER
Practice correct mechanics of the backhand with the emphasis on throwing farther. This segment will be all about generating power and accuracy on your throw. Group and individual throwing coaching.
SIDEARM/FOREHAND
Practice the correct mechanics of the sidearm including determining if you are a “windmill” or “pendulum” thrower. Develop your power sidearm form for increased power and consistency through group and individual throwing coaching.
PUTTING
Your coach will help you determine if you are a “push”, “spin” or “spush” putter. Time will be spent refining your form so you make more putts through group and individual putting coaching.
LUNCH/MENTAL GAME AND STRATEGY DISCUSSION
During the provided lunch, group discussion will cover the mental approach to competitive play and how to not let your brain get in your own way.
BACKHAND FINESSE/APPROACH
More backhand individual work with a focus on throwing with finesse. This will include approach shots as well.
UTILITY SHOTS
Your coach will demonstrate and teach rollers, thumbers, tomahawks, grenades and scoobers. These alternative deliveries are NOT trick shots, they are an essential part of your scramble game.
INDIVIDUAL REFINING
Your coach will give additional individual instruction on any area where you need specific help. Time spent will differ from player to player.
POST SEMINAR VIDEO
To wrap up the day, each participant will record the “after” portion of your “before and after” video. Your coach will include individual instructions to ensure participants can look back on key takeaways to cement the muscle memory of their new form mechanics.
The event details including: weather plan, list of what to bring and etc will be sent by email no less than 48 hours before the event.
